Site and Family News: 11/6/2016 Thanks to a very enthusiastic email received today from Iris Stone, some new information was added to the outline report on the descendants of Wolf Steinschneider (Konstantynow, Poland Lineage). We've now included the names of Smuil (Sam) Steinschneider's and Ida Shulman's children. Hopefully, we have another young genealogist in our midst. 10/16/2016 It is with the deepest sadness that we announce the recent death of Erika Steinschneider, the daughter of Erik Jan Hanussen (Hermann Steinschneider) on September 30, 2016 -- 21 days after her 96th birthday. We saw her in Merano in 2001, but did a very lousy job of keeping in touch with her. I am sorry aunt Erika, for being a lousy nephew. You never left our hearts and we thought of you often. May you rest in peace.
8/10/2016 Thanks goes out to cousin Eric Stonier, who recently submitted some superb information. He reminded of the famous Lilly Steinschneider, who was a pioneering aviator. She held pilot license no. 4, which she received on August 15th 1912. It's exhibited in the Museum of Transport in Budapest, Hungary. Additional data about her can be found here, here, here, and her Geni genealogy is found here. 2/1/2016 Cousin Daniel Kergomard has provided us with some information about a Steinschneider that died very young. Ernst Steinschneider, who passed away in his first year, has his dates. These have been added to the Hermann Steinschneider outline report. 1/1/2016 Steinschneider.com enters an 18th year. It's hard to believe that so much time as already passed since we first started our little journey. We look forward to many new discoveries, which we'll share with the family as they're brought to light. Announcements: In September and October of 2009, the History Channel ran a series of shows called Nostradamus Effect. Episode 4 was titled Nostradamus Effect: Hitler's Blood Oath and featured a small segment on Hanussen (Hermann Steinschneider). Although the series was a little over-the-top, it contained interesting information nonetheless. A clip covering the Hanussen component can be seen below.
